Some prayer requests and an update

It's been weeks since I've blogged...again. Life has been busy and full. Today I am praying for some very dear friends and ask that you would pray with me.
A very dear and looooonnnng time friend, Dave, is having his first treatment of chemo today for Follicular Lymphoma. He is young, a father to 5 children from age 7-20. Please pray for God's healing and for His peace that passes all understanding. My heart breaks for him and his family as they walk this path. Please pray that God's awesome power will be shown and lives would be changed for His glory through all of this!
Another dear friend, Erin, is scheduled for a c-section this morning. This is her first baby and it is very breech. Pray for a safe and healthy delivery and easy recovery.
My hubby and I had a WONDERFUL getaway to a beautiful, rather warm climate. It was so perfect! Just the break we needed in the middle of the craziness of life to reconnect and spend good quality time together.

And just for fun, a few pics of my girls having fun at homeschool co-op. We are very blessed to have a great professional photographer as part of our co-op who so graciously wandered around with her camera the other day to get some great candid shots for the yearbook. Thanks Susan!

And this shot was taken by my good friend, Mary Lou - AKA Miss Lou Lou :-)

And finally, I have 10 weeks and 5 days left until my due date! I can't believe I'm almost there! Can't wait to hold our sweet Caroline!

Blog Writer's Block...and a little meme

So I haven't posted in a LOOOOONNNNGGGG time! Sorry, guys! Just been so busy and haven't had the brain power to sit down and compose a post that will interest you. So I found this over at Happy To Be Called Mommy's blog and thought it would be easy enough to repost. I'll be back in full force later this week as I'm working on a special post for my oldest daughter's birthday.

A special meme about my hubby -

1. He’s sitting in front of the TV: what is on the screen? FOOTBALL!
2. You’re out to eat. What kind of dressing does he get on his salad? Ranch or French
3. What is one food he doesn’t like? Casseroles, meatloaf, anything with dumplings
4. You go out to the bar. What does he order? We don't go to bars or drink
5. Where did he go to high school? Public school for 2 years, then Christian school with me for last 2
6. What size shoe does he wear? 13
7. If he was to collect anything, what would it be? He currently collects old computers and parts...not officially, but I've got a half a room full of them. A real collection favorite would have to be Ravens memorabilia.
8. What is his favorite type of sandwich? ummm...I think it depends on his mood, but possibly a Reuben or Chicken Cheesesteak
9. What would the Husband eat every day if he could? potato chips...I think he does actually eat them every day
10. What is his favorite cereal? Corn Flakes
11. What would he never wear? A dress. Makeup. lol (Ditto on that one, Bethany)
12. What is his favorite sports team? RAVENS!
13. Who is his best friend? Me.
14. What is something you do that he wishes you wouldn’t do? Lose or forget things...I'm a little absent-minded
15. How many states has he lived in? just one
16. What is his heritage? I'm so embarrassed! I forgot!
17. You bake him a cake for his birthday; what kind? It would have to be a pie. He doesn't really like cake
18. Did he play sports in high school? Track team - focus on discus
19. What could he spend hours doing? watching football

Your turn to repost...Let us know in the comments if you did so we can see yours :)

Here's my Friday Flashback

This picture is of Maia (now almost 8) climbing into Daddy's suitcase as I was unpacking and repacking it for yet another business trip. During this stage of our lives, Tom was working for IBM and travelling whole weeks or more at a time to install new machines all over the east coast. He would come home for a few days, and then head right out again. It was such a hard time for us as a family with him having to be gone so much. I took this picture for him with a caption "Take me with you, Daddy". We are so thankful for the job he now has that keeps him close to home.

**IMPORTANT MESSAGE FOR MY IRL FRIENDS: If you are here because I sent you an e-mail saying to check out the cute picture on my blog, this isn't it. Scroll down to Wednesday's post!**

Tagged again...by MandyMom

...but really...I asked for it. I love this one!

1. Who is your man? Tom, but all the teens call him Mr. T :) I have my own little names for him ;)

2. How long have you been together? 15 years this past February, married 11 years in July

3. How long dated? 4 1/2 years (including engagement)

4. How old is your man? Just turned 31 in June

6. Who said “I love you” first? I am soooo embarrassed to admit that I don't remember. I think it was him...we were only 16.
7. Who is taller? He is, and even the tallest heels in the world couldn't change that! He's a full foot taller than I am.
8. Who sings better? He does...waaaaayyyy better! But I make a joyful noise :)

9. Who is smarter? He is definitely smarter, but I was the valedictorian ;0)

10. Whose temper is worse? Ummm....him again!

11. Who does the laundry? Finally the answer is ME...but he will get a load started sometimes

12. Who takes out the garbage? Me most of the time...but he gets to make the dump runs

13. Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? Mandymom has a point...what side is the right side? Laying on our backs, he is on my right side...but I HATE to sleep on my back. We trade sides every so many years just for a change and it takes me a month to get used to it.

14. Who pays the bills? Since I only work a few hours a week, it's the money that he brings home that pays the bills. But I'm the one who actually physically makes out the payments (or at least I try my best ;0) )

15. Who is better with the computer? We're talking about my husband aka TEC services. He spends his life working on computers

16. Who mows the lawn? He won't even let me touch the tractor. Guess he's afraid I might break it or something

17. Who cooks dinner? We both do. Tom is an AWESOME cook! I'd rather eat his cooking than mine any day!
18. Who drives when you are together? Always him, unless he's sick or something
19. Who pays when you go out? Again, its his paycheck that pretty much pays for everything, but he's usually the one who takes care of the check

20. Who is most stubborn? Ha! We argue about this one too! He is...absolutely!

21. Who is the first to admit when they are wrong? He does...I'm never wrong! No really, he is usually first. I ashamed to admit it!

22. Whose parents do you see the most? Mine. We have church together, small group together, my dad and I work together (the few hours a week that I work), but his mom lives closer and I love her very much! I would love to see more of her!

23. Who kissed who first? He made the first move towards me...but I never pulled away. Still remember the day - June 24, 1993 at the top of the Ferris Wheel.

24. Who asked who out? Ummm...we actually weren't allowed to "go out" alone until I graduated HS, but on the night that we met, I asked him to dance.

25. Who proposed? He did, of course! I would never...that's the man's place! It was soooo sweet. It was Christmas Eve and I was sooo hoping that he had gotten me a ring. When he handed me my gift, it was way too heavy to be a ring :0( I opened the box to find a Precious Moments figurine that had a little girl sitting on a stool holding a pencil and knealing in front of her was a boy holding a handwritten note that said "Please check yes or no" and a ring in a box next to him. Tom posed just like the figurine with the note and everything! I've collected Precious Moments ever since.

26. Who is more sensitive? Definitely me!!! He is not much of a "feelings" kind of guy at all.

27. Who has more friends? We pretty much share the same friends mostly. I probably have the most really close friends, just because us girlfriends, we share everything!

28. Who has more siblings? He does. I have only one sister, but he has 2 brothers.

29. Who wears the pants in the family? Always him. That's how it's meant to be.

30. How did you meet? Although he lived next door to a good friend of the family and we supposedly had met on other occasions at their house, we "officially" met at my friend's 16th birthday party/dance.

I love you, Babe! It's quite an awesome adventure we're living!
